Calibrators for liquids
The TrigasDM Flow Calibration benches for liquids work based on a volumetric displacement principle. They measure the exact volume of the liquid flowing through the flowmeter under test meter during the calibration and compensate in real time for changes in the viscosity and temperature of the liquid.
Our Flow Calibrators are high-precision devices, which can be traced to national and international standards (PTB, LNM, NIST).
The different models of the TrigasDM liquid calibrators can be used for nearly all types of flowmeters, including turbines, MID, Coriolis, PD, VA, and Vortex meters.
TrigasDM TF-Series
The TF series of TrigasDM calibrators for liquids is the perfect solution for applications that require highly accurate calibration of flow meters. These systems are characterised by high performance, efficiency and ease of use.
Exceptional accuracy and stability are achieved by a precision ground, chrome-plated stainless steel cylinder that is inserted into a liquid container and displaces a precisely known volume. This volume is then used as a reference for calibration.
The hydraulically operated system is based on the principle of positive displacement and calibrates almost all types of flow meters quickly and accurately. The innovative displacer cylinder principle was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional piston calibrators at low flow rates. The cylinder displaces a volume of test liquid that corresponds to the volume of the cylinder.
The movement of the displacer cylinder generates a continuous sequence of electrical pulses, which are generated by a linear encoder mounted on the guide shaft of the cylinder. Each pulse represents a very small but very accurate volume of liquid.
Positive displacement calibrators are virtually insensitive to the influences of viscosity, density and compressibility of the test liquid. Traceability to national and international standards (PTB, LNE, NEL, NIST etc.) is easily achieved and maintained through the use of appropriately certified dimensional and temperature standards.

TrigasDM OT-Series
Our universal primary standard calibrator OT1500 offers you calibration options for a wide range of flowmeters and components. It is characterised by its large measuring range and excellent accuracy and is therefore particularly suitable for manufacturers of flowmeters or components who want to verify attractive accuracy classes for their products.
At the heart of this calibrator is a high-precision manufactured unit consisting of a honed stainless steel cylinder and a precisely fitting piston.
Our well-known CFlow+ LabVIEW based data software provides a user-friendly interface. The exceptional accuracy and stability is achieved through the use of state-of-the-art calculation algorithms and compensation techniques.

Advantages
Highest measuring accuracy
Accuracy of +/- 0.03 % even with the smallest flow rates thanks to the precise manufacture of the outer diameter of the displacement piston.
Easy maintenance and recertification
The design enables easy leakage detection and inspection of the critical dimensions of the displacement piston, which minimises maintenance and facilitates regular recertification.
Stability of the flow rate
The displacement piston is pulled hydraulically, which enables smoother movement and therefore more stable flow measurements.
Measurement of small flow rates
The hydraulic force prevents the “stick-slip” phenomenon, enabling extremely low flow rates and a high measuring range (turndown ratio) of over 50,000:1.
Effective leak detection
The design prevents hidden leaks as all possible leak paths are visible and can be easily inspected
Simple venting
The vertical arrangement of the flow element enables simple venting by allowing the air to escape at the highest point of the flow tank.
Compact design
Thanks to its compact design, the TF calibrator takes up less space than gravimetric calibrators, which require large containers and extensive pipework.
